We are seeking a talented and motivated content contractor to deliver for the Benzinga team, specializing in coverage of publicly traded biotech and health care companies. The ideal candidate will have a passion for business journalism, a keen interest in the biotech industry, and a proven ability to develop compelling stories that resonate with a diverse audience.

You will have a direct hand in creating content seen by millions of readers and impacting the industry as a whole. If you know how to attract readership across multimedia formats and are enthusiastic about trying new things to drive engagement, we want to talk to you.

What you'll be doing:

• Research and Reporting: Investigate and report on news, trends, and developments within publicly traded biotech firms, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and relevance. Topics of interest include earnings, data readouts, M&A, IPOs, and market trends.
• Conduct interviews with industry experts, company executives, and other stakeholders to uncover and publish exclusive and unique insights
• Develop original story ideas and pitches that align with market interests and audience preferences.
• Monitor and analyze financial data, market trends, and regulatory developments affecting the biotech industry.
• Produce a once weekly newsletter targeting business executives
• Collaborate with editors, fellow reporters, and other team members to enhance the overall quality and depth of our coverage.
• Utilize traffic analytics to make informed decisions about news coverage and feature content.
• Driving traffic to Benzinga.com.

The experience you need:

• Proven experience in business or financial reporting, with a focus on health data.
• Understanding of the biotech industry, including knowledge of key players, market dynamics, and regulatory frameworks.
• Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to translate complex financial data into engaging, accessible content.
• Ability to produce long and short form content at a high level
• Deep rolodex of industry contacts
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Familiarity with digital media platforms (video and social) is preferred.
