Job Summary:

The Auto Body and Repair Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of an auto body and repair shop, ensuring the delivery of high-quality repair services, maintaining customer satisfaction, and managing a team of technicians and support staff. The role includes handling administrative duties, managing finances, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Operations Management:
• Manage the day-to-day operations of the auto body and repair shop.
• Schedule and prioritize repair and maintenance work to ensure timely service delivery.
• Ensure the shop is clean, well-organized, and compliant with health and safety regulations.
2. Staff Supervision:
• Hire, train, and supervise auto body and repair technicians, estimators, and support staff.
• Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide ongoing training and development.
• Foster a positive work environment and resolve any staff issues or conflicts.
3. Customer Service:
• Greet and assist customers, providing estimates for repair and maintenance work.
• Communicate with customers throughout the repair process to keep them informed.
• Address customer complaints and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
4. Financial Management:
• Prepare and manage the shop’s budget, including monitoring expenses and optimizing profitability.
• Maintain accurate financial records and process invoices and payments.
• Monitor inventory levels and order parts and supplies as needed.
5. Quality Control:
• Inspect completed repair and maintenance work to ensure it meets quality standards.
• Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure consistency.
• Ensure all repairs and services comply with manufacturer specifications and industry standards.
6. Sales and Marketing:
• Develop and implement marketing strategies to attract new customers and retain existing ones.
• Build and maintain relationships with insurance companies and other business partners.
• Promote the shop’s services through various marketing channels.
7. Compliance:
• Ensure the shop complies with all local, state, and federal regulations.
• Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and new technologies.
• Implement and enforce environmental and safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree in automotive technology, business management, or a related field preferred.
• Proven experience in auto body repair, automotive maintenance, and management.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Knowledge of auto body repair processes, techniques, and materials, as well as general automotive maintenance.
• Proficiency in using management software and other relevant tools.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand for long periods and perform manual labor.
• Capacity to lift and carry heavy objects.
• Adequate vision to inspect detailed repair work.
