Position Title: Commercial Banking Intern

Department: Commercial Banking

Branch Location: Beaumont

Manager: Regional President

Position Summary:

As a Commercial Banking Intern, you will have the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience in the dynamic field of commercial banking. This internship is designed to provide exposure to various aspects of commercial banking operations, including client relationship management, financial analysis, credit assessment, documentation and business development.

1. Client Relationship Management: Support relationship managers in maintaining and expanding client relationships through regular communication and service delivery.

1. Financial Analysis: Assist in analyzing financial statements, cash flow projections, and creditworthiness assessments for commercial clients.

1. Credit Assessment: Assist in evaluating credit applications and preparing credit memoranda under the guidance of senior bankers.

1. Documentation and Compliance: Assist in preparing documentation for loan transactions and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

1. Business Development: Contribute to identifying new business opportunities and potential clients through market research and analysis.

*Ad Hoc Projects: Participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned by senior management or team leaders.

Qualifications:

• Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
• Strong analytical skills and proficiency in financial analysis techniques.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

• Current driver’s license and a vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage if required to drive in the course of performing assigned duties and responsibilities.

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Job Type:

This is a part-time, non-exempt position. Typical operating hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm. If the candidate is part-time then a schedule will be determined during the hiring process.

Travel:

No travel is expected for this position.

Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This position uses office equipment such as computers, phones, copy and fax machines, calculators, filing cabinets and printers.

Physical Demands:

This position will be responsible for writing, typing, speaking, listening, lifting (up to 50 pounds), driving, carrying, seeing (such as close, color and peripheral vision, depth perception and adjusted focus), sitting, pulling, walking, standing, squatting, kneeling and reaching.

Mental Demands:

The incumbent in this position must be able to accommodate to reading documents or instruments, detailed work, problem solving, customer contact, reasoning, math, language, presentations, verbal and written communication, analytical reasoning, stress, multiple concurrent tasks and constant interruptions.
