Photographer

DESCRIPTION OF ROLE: Red Carrot is seeking an organized and detail-oriented Photographer to join the team supporting our government customer. This position will use digital photography equipment and techniques to professionally photograph employees and groups, scientific experiments, events and local venues, and other client needs. This position requires product delivery to be performed on-site, 5 days a week, in the Research Triangle Park, North Carolina.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Provide digital photography, on an as needed and often urgent or last-minute basis, including photographing employees and groups, events and local venues, facilities and grounds, scientific experiments, specimens (including animals, alive or dead, whole or dissected; whole organs and tissues; and laboratory products and samples, both biological and non-biological), and other client needs.
• Enhance photographs, provide finals to clients, tag and catalogue photographs, and upload photographs to Extensis Portfolio and websites.
• Establish and maintain a plan/method for identifying individuals who are pictured in photos taken during events; obtain appropriate permissions or releases.
• Provide copying, correcting, cropping, enlarging, or reducing photographs, slides, or old prints, as needed.
• Catalog and store photographs in the electronic database within one month of when they are taken; sort, digitize, and catalog historical print photos.
• Use and maintain the electronic database (Extensis Portfolio) for cataloging, organizing, and archiving past and current photos, for quick retrieval by person’s name, event, group, or other parameters.
• Upload photos for posting to the webpages.
• Occasionally, services may be required for venues outside the 20-mile radius.

QUALIFICATIONS: 
Must Haves: 

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a full-time photographer in a corporate or government setting.
• Must have extensive and proven history of professional photography and studio experience.
• Must have experience using Extensis Portfolio.
